Any expats wishing to know more about the topic of water are invited to visit the Aquarius Water Museum in Mülheim an der Ruhr.Â
Located in a water tower which is over one hundred years old, the museum teems with curious interactivity for the whole family. Here visitors have an opportunity to discover nearly every aspect concerning water.
Through thirty stations, visitors are informed how drinking water is drawn from the river Ruhr, which journey it takes and what happens when it has turned to sewage. Interaction includes computer simulations. For example, visitors can regulate the level of water in the Ruhr and at the same time attempt to ensure a sufficient water supply.
In addition to many other activities, virtual journeys along the Ruhr are possible. For instance, by paddling along, observing history and watching presentations of such things as the abstraction of drinking water, water protection and shipping.
