Gay pride is big in Germany with Essener Christopher Street Day, Ruhr CSD, or Ruhr PRIDE, the largest event in the Ruhr Metropolis held in Essen. A wonderful mix of demonstration, service, parade and stage performances, the festival attracts people from far and wide. The annual event has offered a colourful, welcoming atmosphere since 2004.
