Something special takes place throughout the year in the Ruhr Metropolis. Besides established events and exhibitions, smaller occasions can vary from a concert, theatre performance, vernissage, celebration, opening, anniversary, a spontaneous market or a small one-off activity. 

Choose from expat meet ups and other happenings, some of which take place with surprisingly little noticeable publicity, yet well-informed local nationals attend. Members of the expat communities of the Ruhr and surroundings can enjoy these gatherings too.

Shakespeare in Word and Music. A church concert with theatrical performances from Orange Planet in co-operation with Ensemble Convivium. 10 members of the Tübingen-based Convivium Choir, direc- ted by Ingo Kraus perform some of the most beautiful songs from Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets, which have inspired composers through the centuries right up to the present day, while 3 actors from the Orange Planet Theatre Company deliver texts taken from Othello, Twelfth Night, As You Like It and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
