The people of Ruhr, it seems, adore ice skating. Halls and centres have been built over the years across the whole region. The list includes Bochum, Dinslaken, Dorsten, Dortmund, Duisburg, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Hamm, Herne, Moers, Ratingen, Unna, Wesel and Witten.</br>Besides indoor arenas, many highly popular, temporary ice skating rinks are erected in some of the downtown areas of Ruhr to accompany seasonal Christmas markets.
